2. Category F (working with special agency)

o Letter of invitation and related documents from the special agency (UN mission/ International Organization/Diplomatic mission/ AIT/ Thai state Enterprise/ etc.)
o In case there is authorization number from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bangkok, please communicate through VFS for the confirmation that the RTE had received the authorization.

3. Category IB (working with company under BOI)

o Invitation letter from company to confirm employment purpose
o Official letter from BOI to confirm the permission to work under related job positioned period of stay.

4. Category M (Mass media)

o Type M is only for the media who is assigned by his/her news agency to work for long term in Thailand.
o (Media who is going to work for temporary or short term need to apply for type B)
o Type M can be issued only when the Embassy receive the authorization from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangkok. The media, whose authorization has already been granted from Bangkok, please convey the authorization number to the Embassy and can apply for visa.
o Applicant needs to contact the Embassy to receive the guidance and to be interviewed, wait for the authorization, and apply after the authorization is granted.
o The guidance for type M is available at http://www.mfa.go.th/web/2676.php.

o Letter of acceptance from University/ School/ Institution.
o Letter of approval from the Ministry of Education (available in some case).
o Copy of certificate/ License from Thai government official to establish school or education institute and permission for teaching activity.
o For the case of foreign monk who wishes to pursue a study in religion field with Thai religious institution, these must be letter of approval from the office of the National Buddhism.

6. Category RS (Research)

o Letter from the office of the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT)
o If applicant is some national, the Indian Residential Permit may be required. Please check with the Thai Embassy if not sure.
